Clemson hasn't been ranked outside the top 10 since week 5 of 2015.

If DJ values winning, the decision is an easy one.

If spiller valued winning he would have went to Florida. DJ will be a tiger but sometimes it’s bigger than just winning.

Both teams were picked high in the preseason, and failed to meet expectations. Florida's program the years prior to 2006 was not light years better than Clemson, unlike the current difference in winning between the Ducks and Tigers.

Spiller could’ve gone to anywhere in the country he wanted though, as could Sammy Watkins who came here following a 6-7 season.

Three of those years you cited were the Ron Zook years but Zook was recruiting well. Then starting in 2006 Florida went 13-1, 9-4, 13-1, 13-1 winning two BCS championships.

CJ came here to build the foundation. If it was about having the easier road to a championship - he would have stayed in Florida.
