Official SCHSL Football?

Anyone know what the official game ball is for SCHSL football games?

The SCHSL just signed a multi-year contract with Rawlings. All post season competitions involving SC high schools will be required to use Rawlings balls throughout the playoffs EXCEPT football. Although it is highly "recommended" the SCHSL will not require football teams to use a specific ball - regular season or playoffs.

Teams are free to use whatever ball they wish in every sport during the regular season, but in the playoffs they will be forced to use a Rawlings baseball, softball, basketball, etc. Logically, coaches are making the switch preseason so their players can get used to these brand balls.

As a side note, the SCHSL office is benefitting financially from this contract, and yet, are not buying any Rawlings balls for teams to use or providing any financial assistance. Schools have been told, "You need to buy and use Rawlings." Then the SCHSL goes and cashes their check.

We use the wave ball. Not rawlings. Nor will it be. And yes- we will be in the basketball state playoffs. I guess we will have to forfeit when we don't have a rawlings ball in the building....lol
