Defensive Adjustments Needed

Is it clear to anyone else that our defense is vulnerable up the middle? NCSU broke multiple long gainers straight up the middle, as did FSU. We seemed to get it under control after the first quarter last week, but then it happened again multiple times today. I love what Venables has done for the defense, but seems like there is a problem here.

Yeah I'm at a loss too. Is it us being too aggressive or what? It seems the opposing reads are when they know they have one guy to beat and they execute that pretty well. Maybe too much nickel? I'm not a coach...

I think LB's too agressive and get out of position

opposing OC's have taken notice and are exploiting it. We need to stay home more and maintain gap assignments or we are going to get killed by this. Ive not seen anybody give up more long runs than us this year.

Brent can't go on the field and play for 44 or 10 . They gotta step it up and play better .

Agreed Defense could step it up, but honestly everyone knew we were going to be a little behind last years defense. 44 is no Stephone Anthony, Pagano isnt Grady Jarret and Dodd isn't Beasly. To be honest this years defense have exceeded my expectations if anything.
