TL R up front....good guys won.
So over the weekend, get the call from DTV with the "why are you cancelling". Told them the story and how the retention supervisor I spoke with DGAS.
Did a little back and forthing, and walked away with this deal for a year.
3 TV's (DVR and 2 Genie minis)
Ultimate programming package
Equipment Protection plan
$70/month, plus tax and fees = $79 out the door.
Plus got NFL Sunday Ticket and a $200 gift card for free.
I'm happy.

You may have just lost some leverage for next year, they'll hit you with the cancellation fee if you threaten to cancel.

this isn't my first rodeo with them. I do it again next November, and if they don't play ball, I cancel again.
Worst case, I end up using your Amish programming guide for a while.

much live TV anymore. Partly because there is rarely anything on. Of course, we'll probably move next year to somewhere that doesn't have high speed internet and all of this will have been for nothing.
Also, have you watched The Grand Tour yet?
