That last little bit of this interview tells a ton about where we are as a team. New OC already knows that some players-presumably skill players based on the context of the conversation-have an agenda. But Dwayne Allen is over there talking about what he is seeing overall. We need more of what Dwayne is doing and less gimme the ball before we are the best we can be.

He always seems to say the right things, as does Boyd, now we just have to see it on the field. I like how he calls out the OL while Dabo kinda stroked their egos. No way on this earth that the OL were anything more than mediocre yesterday.

I tend to agree...the OL may have been..

80% of the problem in the 1st half. There was no real effort there, they looked lazy and out of shape (looked). They were punched in the mouth early and were ready to back down.
I basicly said back in the spring, they key to making this offense work, will be the O-line.ANd in the 1st half,Caldwell and Co weren't getting it done.
IMHO

A little concerned he doesn't take ANY responsibility

I thought that the play calling was not matching what the defense was giving Tigers. It's great to have a game plan, but when all the blitzes disrupted the desire to throw long early, Mo-ball should have gone to screens/slants/draws a bit earlier. Boyd did not have the time to do what the Chad wanted & that isn't the QB's fault.

Most of the issue in the first half was on Boyd's shoulders.

Morris DID take blame though. You need to read more of the post-game press if you haven't seen that.

I'm tired of the "It's on me" mentality

Eventually you need to blame the Jimmies and the Joes. If after every loss "It's on me...the coach", then your butt needs to get fired. I agree, Morris seems more willing to name players that didn't do well, but that's good. Give them some accountability. It isn't like he's just randomly blaming players. If he sees something he doesn't like, let us know. Coach-speak gets old after a while. This is refreshing.

they are afraid to make anyone mad by calling them out if they play bad and don't want to boo because it might upset a recruit...
IF we want to be the best then we need to get nasty! Coach Morris is doing a dang good job and I love his attitude!

Coach Morris has taken the responsibility for his part. There is a difference between throwing players under the bus and calling out players who didn't perform up to the standards set. In this case, I think he is challenging these guys to play to those standards.

shortcomings were. After film review he can pinpoint other areas better. He sure isn't sugar-coating anything and is issuing the challenge to those areas and players that need the most improvement before we face real teams in two weeks. I see nothing wrong with this approach.

"But I do think at some point in time we were not as physical as we should have been. And that is on me."
So how is he not taking ANY responsibility?

And Boyd DID have time to go to his hot reads. That's what Morris pointed out. Boyd didn't do well in the first half and there's not a darn thing wrong with anything Morris said.

specifically what and who went wrong on Saturday and to demand excellence. But, if you're going to be that specific in calling out players, then you should be that specific in addressing your shortcomings.
Boyd didn't always have the time to do what Morris wanted, but he often did and ran towards trouble when the pocket was the safest place to be. When your qb is struggling, as Coach Morris admitted he was, and your line is outnumbered, you don't ask him to sit in the pocket and make a lot of decisions and show a lot of patience.
Probably see a huge step forward in offensive efficiency next week.

bad coaches talk about how good their teams are and good coaches talk about how bad their teams are. Bottom line, good coaches are never happy. They're always striving for more. In the last 20 years,we've only had 1 coach anywhere close to coach Morris...Rich Rodreuiez. Morris is going get it done here.It may have been Dabo's life blood...#21

You misspelled PEEcock. And if that coot thinks his D is the "physical team" that will stifle this offense, he's dumber than your average cocklover.

learn in 1 game.
It's the last 13 yrs of TB/Dabo that has made this program soft. This program has been built to practice soft and they know they can get away with it.
we'll see if Dabo can make them tough instead of cheerleading about being tough. I just wonder if 3 WRs coaches can coach tough football?

Toughness is definetly missing. It is a fundamental of sound football, esp. at the college level. The spread though does not lend itself to the tough, physical football that we were accustomed to seeing at Clemson prior to the late 90's.

Chad Morris is full of it! Do not talk to me or anyone else about being committed to running the football when the number one rated fullback in the enitre country is watching from the side lines when the Tigers "need to get a yard!"
Chad Morris is a joke! You do not rely on your starting quarter back to punch the ball into the end zone when 6'3",260 lb Chad Diehl watching!
If you want to comit to the running game the do so!
