November 19, 2005 --- Now that was one shameful day

Nov 9, 2013, 10:21 AM

In a final act of penance, self-mortification, and contrition regarding the previous year's Brawl at Clemson, a showing of unbridled sportsmanship was coordinated by both schools' athletic departments and administrations, whereby both teams met at midfield at Williams-Brice Stadium at the University of South Carolina and shook hands in hope that each morsel of ill will in the world would instantly vaporize and everyone could love and be loved by all from that moment forward. In the eight games since that ridiculous day of white towel waving and Woody Guthrie song singing, Clemson has won three times. Suffice to say, we need more of Yusef Kelly and less of Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul, and Mary.

I think what annoyed me was us not going to a bowl game after the fight. they started it and that carp was self imposed.

We've lost the past 3 games because of an inability to control the line of scrimmage. I agree with you that they play harder and more physical against us and we play scarred to lose. I don't think we will beat them consistently again until we become less of a finesse team and more smash mouth. Out defense is heading in that direction. I don't know about the offense.

Agree 100%. Having these super QB's and quick receivers and backs are entertaining but you become a real football team with BIG, MEAN, NASTY OFFENSIVE LINEMEN,
RECRUIT ....RECRUIT.....RECRUIT.....RECRUIT..........

we're not allowed to have mean, nasty football players.

I agree

Until we get away from finesse we won't return to dominance over them. We will lose more than our share against a good team with a good o line and good running game. See Stanford vs Oregon.

Dabo needs to coach that game like his job is on the line.

Because if it isn't, it should be.
