It's amazing, and a little bit scary, to see what cell phone videos can do in this social media age. United is getting hammered, and their stock is falling.
United wasn't who actually pulled that guy out violently...that was the police. They were the ones, obviously, who told him he had to leave, and whose response afterward was not received well. But the part everyone was really upset about wasn't even United's doing.

That's not a significant enough move for them to really care and it will be back to where it was in less than a month. If I had available funding I'd be buying in for the inevitable rise.

They didn't have to get the police involved. They didn't have to direct the police to forcibly remove a passenger. That was their decision and that's what's being criticized.

would have been really involved in instructing the police in the manner of removal. But maybe they knew it would be violent.
Again, I'm not defending United, just observing how people are reacting to the story, and found it interesting how "scot-free" the police are. (Which is not typical.)

The video I saw was him being dragged off the plane like a sack o' taters. Didn't seem all that violent. It's a counterfactual argument, but I think if it had stopped there or even if he'd followed instructions to get off the plane, it would have been news that a guy was forced to leave the plane for stupid reasons.
