Not surprised about Morris...

Nov 29, 2012, 2:17 PM

But what is the story about Venables and not being happy at Clemson... Is this just Internet junk or is there something to this? Frankly alot of people including myself think the defense is just as bad at the end of the reg season as at the beginning...who the heck would want him?...

I havent read any actual articles on any problems with Venables yet TD. If I see any, I will post them here >>

We need players.

I think our defense did very well against SC. If our offense would hve had it together, we would have won.

Venebles is doing a good job.
He needs better players.

And Morris would be stupid to leave here.

It's just rumors started on The Internets

Anyway, I like BV and I'm glad we have him - but I doubt his stock is very high right now.

Re: Defense has improved since last year

Interesting stats from the following article.

http://www.orangeandwhite.com/news/2012/nov/28/curious-playcalling-pressure-tajh-boyd-combine-sou/

Defensively, the numbers are worse in terms of yards in total defense (384 to 411) and passing ‘D’ (197 to 250), but Brent Venables’ unit moved up 30 spots in rushing defense (92nd to 62nd) and rode a top-20 ranking in red zone defense to a spot in the top-50 in scoring defense (about a field goal better than last season).

They round out the regular season 26 spots higher nationally in sacks (66th to 38th) and 59 in tackles for loss (87th to 28th).

At least BV was able to get our linebackers back into the game this year. Our secondary is susceptible to big plays, hence the NC State game, but against USuC we were very depleted with our cornerbacks. I'm surprised they didn't throw in Humphries again.

We need more playmakers on our O & D-line. Hopefully we can ###### some talent in the 2013 class, but I noticed we only have one O-lineman committed.
