Not sold on us being WRU

Think about it. WR's at schools like Tennessee can go there and ride the coat tails of decent to good receivers 20 years ago and get drafted in the first 3 rounds without having to put up numbers. All they need is some hype out of high school and to show out at the combine. Go there and you can focus on being over 6 feet tall and working on your track skills and vertical leap and you are set.
Or take LSU. A receiver can go there and have 30 catches and 8 td's and get selected in the first couple rounds and when you get to the league people are like, "Wow! I didn't know you were this good. LSU can barely complete screen passes and option routes to the TE. The. You can put up big numbers in the league and get a monster deal once your rookie contract is up.
But at Clemson, here will be expectations that you produce on e field. Yeah we have like 4 first rounders and around 10 receivers on NFL rosters in the last 4 years, but who wants to come to a school and have to live up to all those expectations?
I think we are 3rd at best.

My entire post was sarcastic and I wasn't trying to be perfect with the numbers. Was just thinking off the cuff trying to have a bit of fun. I know, "best is standard." I repent

Did he really say that? That is a bit surprising. John Brown must be thinking he's arrived. A little coach speak to light a fire under buts. Is Floyd still there?

Potential, Combine/Workouts, Production, and Relationships all come together to decide the "who" and "where" of draft status. It's always been that way, and always will. We are riding high now... at WR, and plenty of other positions now. Good for our kids. Guys like Hump going free agent and sticking, and guys like Hop getting a chance after walking away from CU speak volumes about the League respect for our program.
