Not Overly Concerned With No Solid TE Yet This Year

We Have Been w/o for 2 years anyhow. If we had one that could catch and run routes the offense could not be stopped. Likely will not be stopped either way.

So far I agree - but it depends on whether we can find a slot receiver for 3rd down drag routes, quick outs, slants, crossing and stick routes and an occasional seam fly. That's what keeps our O on the field. Powell looked good when he was targeted, but didn't get to see a lot of him.

He was a heck of a blocker. I loved watching him

I was much more worried last year. Seems like we are in

Pretty good shape. I didn’t know what to expect at the beginning of last year. Thought our defense should keep us in any game we played and allow our offense time to learn/improve. This year I think our offense should keep us in any game and allow our defense time to learn/improve. Weird feeling to think that our defensive backfield may be a strength. My expectations are a lot higher this year with or without a te but a serviceable te will be icing on the cake.

I think Jaelyn Lay is tight as a banjo string and suffering from deer-in-the-headlights syndrome right now. That situation will almost surely improve between now and the end of Fall Camp. He is too talented for that not to happen when things slow down for him. What we saw Saturday was him running head-on into the proverbial "wall".

Naturally, I hope we get Galloway for the whole year, but if not, would we have him back for a playoff since his suspension started before last year's? He looked good yesterday.
