Visited CU in March of 2014. Has expressed high interest in Clemson, Stanford, Fla, and OhSt. Culpepper stated, "Clemson has nice facilities and they are making new ones. I really liked the head coach (Dabo Swinney). He came and talked to me for 20 minutes. I had no idea it was him. It’s really homey." Rex is the son of former NFL QB Brad Culpepper. Grandfather played at Fla. "The attraction to Culpepper includes many things: His 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame, his arm (can throw a football 70 yards), accuracy, speed, strength, durability, leadership qualities and genes (dad Brad Culpepper played in the NFL). "Last year as a sophomore, Culpepper’s experience was limited while Colby Brown played out his senior year. Culpepper, however, had an outstanding spring and his stock has shot up as expected. Culpepper follows a long list of great Plant quarterbacks, including four who have won four state titles in the past eight seasons: Robert Marve (state title 2006), Aaron Murray (2008), Phillip Ely (2009) and James Few (2011)." Also a basketball prospect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awXzlbr2JcE

Short read on Powell from 24/7, "“I loved his competitiveness,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Barton Simmons said. “He competed all day long.” Powell was slated for the first session of the combine, but he stuck around and competed in both. “He fought for reps,” Simmons said. “I thought he showed the most diverse skill set of any of the receivers. I thought he showed great quicks and the ability to get off the line of scrimmage. He showed strength downfield to be a big receiver with the ball in the air. He can play whatever role you need a receiver to play and he showcased all of that.” Clemson is the early favorite for Powell, led by the recruiting efforts of Jeff Scott. “We’re really close,” Powell said. “We talk almost every day. I’ve been up there a couple times and I’ll probably go back. “When I went down there they showed me mad love. It was a real cool experience. I visited their campus and toured the school. The atmosphere, the best 11 seconds in college football, going down the hill, that was unbelievable. The game atmosphere was crazy and I just enjoyed everything about it. My mother even liked it. I went to Carolina, N.C. State, ECU and Duke, but Clemson stood out.”

WR- Diondre Overton 6-5 195 Greensboro, NC Page HS Offered on 12-8-14. Also a basketball prospect. Has a 32" Vert, 225 bench, and 325 squat. Being recruited by Jeff Scott and Danny Pearman. In 2014, he had 70 catches for 1200 yards and 11 touchdowns "I know that they have a good history of putting wide receivers in the NFL," he said. "I know it's a good program and I like their offense. I think I kind of favor some of Clemson's former receivers like Martavis Bryant and Sammy Watkins. I remember that Sammy had a couple of touchdowns of over 90 yards." http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4198067/diondre-overton

I would be shocked if we are still interested in his services as he was arrested for theft while at UGA camp. The latest: "Wide receiver Darnell Salomon, the No. 35 recruit in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite, has apparently been using an iPhone he denied stealing after turning himself in on felony burglary charges in July, according to a report by the Athens Banner-Herald Web site onlineathens.com."

WR- Clyde Lefore 6-1 175 New Orleans, LA Warren Easton HS 24/7 #17 WR and #89 overall. ESPN Top 300 #18 WR, 82 grade, #97 overall. 4.43 40 time, 180 bench, 230 squat. 33 catches for 821 yards and nine touchdowns in 2014. From Scout James Smith, "His strengths are easily noticeable in his highlight reel, as he glides around the field, outrunning opponents and often making big plays in the passing game. His athleticism and ability to track and make plays on the ball is what sets him apart from many of his peers." http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1518513/kelejawan-leflore

WR- DJ (Darrell) Clark- 5'11 175 New Orleans, LA 1st team All District. *3 stars by Rivals, 3 by 24/7. 3 stars, #172 WR by ESPN, 73 grade. Has commited to Arizona on Jan 24, 2015. Offered in May of 2014. Video: http://www.tigernet.com/update/recruiting/Clemson-offers-New-Orleans-WR-15805

More on Chalk..Arizona State, Colorado State and Duke are also among his scholarship offers, and Texas A&M, where Stallings coached before moving on to the NFL and then Alabama, is among schools showing interest in potentially offering. But that won't make a difference, Chalk said. "It doesn't really matter to me," Chalk said. "I'm going to be totally in. I'm not going to try to talk with any other coaches. I've already called the other coaches and told them I'm committed." OG- Parker Boudreaux 6'4 282 Orlando, FL Bishop Moore Catholic HS. Perhaps the top OL in the 2016 class. Has over 60 offers. ESPN Top 300, #20 OL, 222 overall. 24/7 has him as the #7 OT and #142 overall. 5.13 40, 325 bench, 450 squat. 2nd Team all state Fla 5A. Unofficially visited for UNC game. Orlando NSFC All Combine Team member. Moving up the boards quickly. After visiting CU, said "Everything was awesome. Probably my favorite visit so far." Also attended the Tigers bowl practice in December. You'd be hard pressed to find a better pulling guard in this class. This young man is going to be special. Crystall ball has it 43% CU, 43% ND, and 14% Fla. Bishop Moore head coach Matt Hedrick said earlier this spring, "He's potentially as good as anyone we've had, or possibly even better. He's not a great technical player yet, but he improved a lot during the year. He's got great feet, but learning how to use them to block people and gain leverage and all of that stuff, he's still learning. He's learning the game." Video highlights: http://notredame.scout.com/story/1504836-red-carpet-for-boudreaux

OL- Sean Pollard 6-5 294 4* South Pines, NC #4 OG and 191 overall by Yahoo. 5.9 40 time, 4.76 shuttle, 21.6" vert, 235 bench, 365 squat. Offered on 7-8-14. Attended CDS Camp. Visited in Sept and Nov. Commited to CU on 12-18-14. Had offers from Duke, ECU, UNC, NCSU, and Wake. "Could play Tackle or Guard and worked out at both at camp. He has good enough feet to play either, gets to the next level of the defense. Overall a top tier player in the region and wonderful early get for Clemson." http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2196811/sean-pollard From Pollard on his commit day: "It's a second family," Pollard said of Clemson. "It's basically just a college-level version of our program here. They're just so family-oriented and they look out for everybody. Even though it's four and a half hours away from home, I'm not going to be homesick that much because I know I'm with another band of brothers." OL- John Simpson 6-4 270 North Charleston, SC Fort Dorchester HS Per 24/7, he is the #26 OT, #257 overall, and a 4* prospect. Rivals gives him 4*, #7 OT, and #248 overall. Offered on 10/4/14. Visited for scar game and had this to say, “It was a good show, I must admit,” he said. “But I don’t really know how to explain it. It was a great day. I didn’t expect for it to go how it went. I was expecting it to be real close.” Has offers from CU, scar, UofL, Wake, and UGA. Has said Scar is a slight leader at this point. However, some believe he is warming up to CU. And if Twitter is any indication, this would appear to be true. Was recently visited by Dabo.

A 3* prospect by Rivals. ”I’m going to make my decision during my senior season, but I don’t have a date set yet,” Dickerson said. “I don’t have any favorite schools right now. I’m wide open.”
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3337153/highlights/85112687

OT- Clark Yarborough 6-6 268 Woodberry Forest, VA Woodberry FHS 4* by Rivals #16 OT, 187 overall. 24/7 #13 OT and #151 overall. ESPN ranks him as the #16 OT, #165 overall, with an 81 grade. Has an offer from CU and most major schools. His grandfather played at Virigina, as did his cousin. However he says his families' ties to particular schools will play "zero factor" in his decision. He is highly sought after due to his combination of size, length, technique, and agility. On his recruitment, "There are a few schools that really stand out that I'm gonna return back to during the school year," he said. "But I'm not putting out an official list. My recruitment is still very open and I'm not gonna narrow anything down any time soon." According to Yarbrough, a school's proximity to his home could play a small factor in his recruitment, although finding the "right fit" will supersede everything. "I mean, it would be nice to be close to home and be close to my family," he said. "But that's not gonna stop me if I find the right fit. It could be on the other side of the country. But that's just stuff I've got to figure out. " https://tape.preps.com/h/va/woodberry-forest/woodberry-forest-high-school/clark-yarbrough/vs-st-christophers/94747673/

BC, ECU, and Wake have offered. Leota visited Clemson and had this to say, "I went down for the Louisville game and it was awesome,” he said. “There were a lot of people there and I loved the atmosphere. It was also a great game. I really liked the food, too." (for more, http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1486068-leota-updates-recruitment ) ”I talked to (defensive tackles) coach (Dan) Brooks the most. He’s really good friends with my head coach. He told me he it was good to have me down there and that he hoped I would come back soon.”

OL- Austin Myers 6-5 290 Manvel, TX Manvel High 24/7 has him as a 3*, #40 OT, and #466 overall. ESPN has Myers as a 3* prospect. Rivals has him as a 3*, #35 OT. OL- J.P. Urquidez 6-6 290 Hyattsville, MD DeMatha HS 4 star prospect according to 24/7 and listed as the #23 OT, #238 overall. Rivals has him as a 4* guy, #13 OT, and #126 overall. Offered on 9/18/14. On ESPN's board he has an 81 grade, 14th at his position and the #144 overall prospect. He's clocked a 5.4 40, 4.64 shuttle, 320 bench, and 405 squat. Here is some film of him going up against other top prospects:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0gSQ9kidhY

OT/ DT- Javon Kinlaw 6-5 286 Goose Creek HS 24/7 has him as a 4* guy, #15 OT, and #178 overall. Rivals has him as a 3* DE, #22 DE, and number 8 in SC. ESPN rates him as a 4* recruit, #17 OT, and 181 overall. Offered on 10/15/14. Visited during Syr game. As a junior, had 50 tkls and 4 sks. The scoop: "Kinlaw is raw, very raw as a football player. He is even more raw as an offensive tackle. He flirted with that position back in the spring, but his preference is defense, and head coach, Chuck Reedy feels Kinlaw can help his team more on that side of the ball this year. Next year may be different. Kinlaw may again make another number switch. His future is at offensive tackle if he wants to be a difference-maker on the next level. Yes, he has improved as a big end this season -- he is quicker off the ball, he is in better football shape, and he has improved his strength." Read more at http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1454468-javon-kinlaw-all-about-upside For video highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYKK7rkSRq4

Great list! Thanks a lot for writing this up

This verifies what I've been hearing that we'll have our pick of top rated WRs and OL next year. I can see us taking 3 WRs and another 3-4 OL to pair with Pollard.

Any chance you'll put up a defensive post soon? I've heard that we'll have our pick of DTs and DBs. Not sure about DEs though

No problem. I do have the defensive list and...

I will TMail it to you if you'd like it. Not sure how it translates into mail with the spacing and stuff but I'll do it anyhow. I do think we'll take 2 or 3 WRs in that class but that could change. Ya just never know what's going to happen with transfers and injuries; players leaving early. I'd have to say Powell is near the top of my list. He's a stud. I like the speed Eddie McDoom has and I like the size Sullivan has. Bryan Edwards is probably underrated. I haven't seen him play so it's hard to say. Nonetheless I'd really like to land Powell. He's going to fly up the big boards as time goes on. The scouts really like what he brings to the table.

I want Powell, Edwards, and Chase personally

Powell because he's a stud. Edwards because he's talented and an instate kid. I always say take every talented in state kid when you can, and it'll keep him out of the hands of the coots. I like Chase a lot and want to snub FSU whenever I can. Sullivan has size but he's raw from what I understand

I like Chase, Powell, and Overton. Florida speed and a steal from FSU and could give us some help at IMG. Powell is the all around great recevier and Overton is the oversized jumbo receiver we don't have. Williams and Bryant have the height but we need the big bodied receiver ala Mike Evans or Kelvin Benjamin. Don't know how he stacks up in regards to speed to those two.

I'll put up the defensive list soon.

It's rather lengthy. I would put both up at once but it's just a bit much.

Re: 2016 Offense Recruits

I REALLY like Cooper, Feaster, and Overton. We need a tall WR like Overton. Powell is good too, but I like Overton's height. Cooper is a smooth operator with a CANNON, and we all know what Feaster can do.

Jay Jay McCargo - Good name for OL guy!***
