Name your top 5

Since most of you seem to think everyone in America is overrated, who exactly do you have as the top 5 teams in America?

why do they "certainly" belong

can't be their schedule so far....
4 home games: 3 patsies (UAB, ECU, Missouri), 1 solid win (UGA). 2 away games (Vandy and KY), both ugly struggles. They've played 1 good half out of four total on the road.
Now they have 3 home, 3 road remaining. Home - Wofford, Tenn, Arky Away - LSU, Fla, Clemson
If they get through that gauntlet, they will have my respect.

Is all that matters? So all the teams who have 1 loss have no shot? So will it matter when SC has one loss? Reality is your friend. Also coots think Clemson fans are bashing SC when we have UF ahead of SC, why? UF has a better resume, beat a better team in LSU at home, beat two on the road that are tough environment o and they get SC at the Swamp

Yes, these are all that matter. Because ONE of each of these three will end up unbeaten, the PLAYOFFS started the week CU played FSU. If my coots lose, they're out. I'm not rank these three groups I'm simply saying these are the groupings that will determine the BCS Championship game.
It really doesn't matter where AL/FL/SC are ranked as their outcome will be determined on the field.
As for the other three, OR/WV/ND, that more of a race that perception and rankings are very important.

agree. bama and oregon are definites. any of those other 5 could be the next 3. will shake out over the next few weeks. if we can somehow win the next 2 i will then believe 100% that we deserve #3. not sold on that ranking yet. will be very tough to win both but i do believe we have a top 5 defense so that gives us a chance.

if SC wins at LSU and at UF, yeah they should be #1 in my opinion. But don't see it, they could win at LSU, cause they're struggling. SC coming off a huge win and LSU desperate, doesn't bode well for SC

I agree, if they are 11-0 coming into the Clemson game they SHOULD be ranked number 1. I just feel like the media will keep Alabama as the top team until they have a truly poor game.

I think Alabama and Oregon are 1 and 2 no doubt with South Carolina, West Virginia, Kansas State, Notre Dame, and Florida are right there fighting for the 3-7 spots. I think South Carolina's win over Georgia is enough of a win to say they deserve to be where they are but there are still a few tough games left and if they make it through those unscathed before we can really put them in the same company as an Alabama (cough cough Lou Holtz.)

Bama, Orogone (in honor of Walt D.), Coots, WVU, Florida

Defense wins championships. I personally think both Bama and the Coots would take care of those high flying offenses of Orogone and WVU. The Coots, sad to say, have a defense that is LSU/Bama'ish from last year, but like Bama, they actually have an O to go with it. I'm still not sure what to make of Florida or ND. I was almost inclined to put someone like Ohio State in that fifth spot, but just couldn't do it.

I would put SUC ~ #8
I like Notre Dame, Oregon State ahead of them. SUC must learn to play better on the road for me to make them higher.
CLEMSON should be no higher than 15. Our inability to shut down ANY offense keeps us down. If our O was just average, we would not be in the Top 25.
