My three thoughts on CFP

Nov 6, 2019, 10:14 AM

1) Nothing has really changed for us. We still have to win them all (and maybe Bama does too) to get in.
2) I am a big PAC-12 fan for the rest of the season; please have two 11-1 division champs in Oregon and Utah. Would love to see the SEC get only one team in.
3) Can someone explain to me how LSU has 3 Top 10 wins and Clemson has 0 Top 25 wins (i.e. Texas-TAMU)?

If we can go undefeated, OSU or Penn St can finish with either one loss or undefeated and win their title game, and Oklahoma OR PAC12 finishes with a 1 loss champion then SEC only gets 1 team.

I think that you are probably right but I think that it is far from a given. If Georgia wins out and beats a previously unbeaten Alabama or LSU do you really think that a one loss team gets in from the Big 12 or PAC 12? The general scenario is putting LSU and Bama in and that wouldn't surprise me either, but Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma, and even Baylor do not control their own destiny.

I disagree with your last sentence.

I could see a scenario where the 1 loss SEC team is ahead of Oregon and Utah heading into the conference championship weekend and then the winner jumps the non-champ from the SEC.

The same could be said in the Oklahoma and Baylor situation.

The major difference there is that Oklahoma and Baylor could meet twice near the end of the season.

In all honesty, Baylor is not beating Oklahoma twice.
