LBB's post earlier got me to thinking, so I have a question

Feb 25, 2020, 1:21 PM

Who has children attending schools other than Clemson, and how successful have you been at being a fan, or have you even tried? Or if you don't have kids in school, what about the schools your other family members attended?

My oldest child went to Winthrop, and I try to stay informed and pull for the Eagles, but it is just not the same. I did go to a few hoops games, and really enjoyed it, but my Clemson is the only place I will ever be a TRUE fan of. I always want Winthrop to win, but can't really call myself a fan with a straight face.

I went to Clemson, wife went to scar, oldest son is a helicopter pilot, youngest son went to Alabama. Am all in for the tigers and helicopters. At home its constrained animosity for coots, and feigned indifference for tide.

I have trouble trying to be a fan of the other schools that I actually attended much less any family members of mine.

Sure sometimes it's nice if they win, but I don't really care in the same way I do about Clemson athletics.

siblings' schools, which include LSU, Florida, FSU, Maryland, and Auburn. I was a little more conflicted when my nephews all played baseball for Furman, learning how to pull for the player without burdening myself with the rest of the team.

I am sure I have posted this here before, but my oldest nephew was a pitcher (middle reliever), who got his first career start AT Clemson. He staked them to I think a 10-0 lead after 2 innings. They pulled him after 2 IP, and eventually lost the game something like 24-15. Felt like my nephew won AND my Tigers won!

My daughter went to Oh St. I sent the checks and am respectful around here as we are in central ohio. I watch them if on to stay up on what they are doing. But us beating them every time we've played brings me no end to joy. I just dont flaunt it because she does love Clemson. I have reached the point in life where the only school stuff I wear is Clemson's

...and it works out pretty well. We both pull against all things UGA and I support Tech when they're not playing our Tigers and she understands why so we never argue about it. She has been known to yell for the Tigers with me while watching many a football game together. So it's a good understanding we have.
