Conservative George Will understands in article in The Washington Post, dated June 22

Jun 22, 2018, 10:57 PM

George Will, as conservative as they come, wrote a great article today in the Washington Post that explains how congress has cowarded to a con artist, to the detriment of the US government. In his opinion, the US is now being run by louts and racists.
Sorry, but I do not know how to attach the article.
Here's a link:

I read that. It's a good article, I don't recall seeing the 'racist' thing and I think he used Stephen Miller as an example of a lout.

George Will is a conservative columnist who started his career with William F. Buckley who founded the National Review. Will has won a Pulitzer Prize for his writing.

Of course, in the age of Trump, none of that matters...

Sorry. When Steven Miller snd Lewandowski were mentioned in the article, the "racism" became inherent and didn't need to be stated in words by George Will. Most modestly-interested political observers know that those 2 men are extremely racist. Miller's main life focus (and he has used it to guide TheRump), is that the GOP needs to maintain the white majority of voters to maintain GOP power and their way of life. (Who needs Cinco de Mayo, they think.)

Trump is neither a Reagan Republican nor a Conservative...

Those positions are moral, honorable, honest and thoughtfullly worthy of consideration and in many cases support.

our drug policies have done this. Central american countries have become gang ridden narco states as they are waypoints for the american drug trade.

Can’t say ALL policies of any administration were the best

Jun 23, 2018, 9:19 AM

when viewed from a historical perspective.

Tha War on Drugs had unanticipated and deleterious effects on Central & South America and even our criminal justice system. CIA operations and the Cold War against communism compounded the offshore effects.

I was and continue to be supportive of Reagan’s policies regarding the former Soviet Union. In addition, his instincts regarding the historical and current motivation of Russian leadership was on target. So were his understanding and full support of historical western alliances. He established and commanded from a position of strength in a rational, firm and consistent way. He could show genuine compassion when needed because of confidence in America’s strength as a nation. No administration is perfect, but Reagan got a lot of things right.

Yeah, Reagan did some good things, although he raised taxes on the middleclass and poor, while his "trickle-down effect" really only increased the wealth of the well-to-do.

Too bad Reagan slept through the last 2 years he was in office. His dementia started in '85 or '86 and was nearly in full control at the last of his second term.

The recent taxcuts by TheRump are very similar to the Reagan cuts, and most polls are now showing that the recent taxcuts are very unpopular. Just wait until the GOPpers try to cut Soc Security, Medicare, and Medicaid to pay for the taxcut for the super-wealthy -- it's coming soon. Also, the taxcuts for the middleclass and poor are to be reduced slowly until 2025 when thoce cuts will disappear. (Except the cuts for the rich go on forever. Those cuts will save TheRump family $10M over the next 5 years. Should get a new Gulfstream, paid for by the poor and middleclass. I bet TheRump won't bother to say thank you.)
