I don't blame him

it's far less addictive and the side effects are much less severe than with prescription pain killers. Even some of the OTC stuff will destroy your liver over time.

I agree, unfortunately for the players who would benefit

I find it ironic that the pain he mentions is chronic .
It would be great to see everyone stoned during an NFL game , we need more love and lackadaisical play versus this focused intensity we're having to put up with nowadays .
You think Cam burned one on the SB sideline just before he decided that fumbles don't matter in the cosmological scheme of things ?

Medical marijuana's pain killing power is limited

May 16, 2016, 4:16 PM

to very specific chronic nerve pain. The science with other "pain killing" is more around the placebo effect and and emotional response to pain.

Still, it might be better in a short term for a medical issue that is going to go away on its own than using opiods that are overprescribed and more addictive. But medical marijuana has't been shown to be an effective treatment for chronic arthritis from colliding with huge, strong and fast football players for decades.

I think it depends on what kind of weed you're smoking. I believe powerful indicas are probably pretty good for pain killing, though obviously with a different effect than prescription drugs. It's a different way of treating the pain, but if the players want to try it, I think they should absolutely be allowed to.
