This has been a constant problem for us.

I nominate Spencer Region! I sure wouldn't stand in front of him!!! Every team needs a 400# RB!

Re: Who do we use as a short yardage back? We have no big

Aug 3, 2012, 1:49 PM

DJ Howard isn't huge, but he's as close to a power back as any RB we have right now. At least he can break a few tackles.

I imagine it's going to be a combination between Ellington and Howard for the majority of the short yardage situations.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

DJ came in at 190 while AE came in at 198.....

Aug 3, 2012, 1:50 PM

Ellington is the biggest back on the roster weight wise.

Re: Who do we use as a short yardage back? We have no big

Aug 3, 2012, 1:50 PM

Brooks didn't add as much weight this off-season as I'd hoped after watching yesterday's weigh-in....so I'd have to say Ellington/Howard are the guy(s) right now.

Screw Calford.

Aug 3, 2012, 1:51 PM

I heard Robert Nkemdiche might get some goal line touches when he gets here.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe we are relying on never being in short yardage

Aug 3, 2012, 1:51 PM

It doesn't matter who the back is if the OL doesnt move people, and they have not done that in many many years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe the reason for adding the Pistol.***

I can't wait for Dalvin Cook to arrive...

Aug 3, 2012, 1:55 PM

He's a stud, and competes in Dade County, which pumps out some of the most electricifying, physically imposing prospects in all of America. Turned down the likes of LSU, So Cal, FSU, among others to tote the rock in Tigertown. He's going to be a great one.
