Matt Ryan choked on big stage

He cannot take a sack to take ATL out of field goal range.

You are correct my friend. Why he's not running there is beyond me... not at that point in the game.
A qb draw there would have worked. I mean he was only trying to get 4-5 yrds passing anyway.

He's not made for the big stage anyway. Atlanta will never win a championship with him at qb. They had a great season but not because of Ryan. He was just a piece of the puzzle.

I wouldn't say it was Ryan's fault. It's more on the coaches for not just wanting to run the ball and drain the clock at that that point. If they would have just ran the ball they would have stayed in FG range and drained the clock. Instead you try to pass which has 2 negative outcomes: you have the potential to have an incomplete pass and stop the clock or you take a sack and get pushed out of FG range. The coaches choked in this one. not Matt Ryan.

Ok I'll hunt for the fact that the "MVP" was surrounded this year with every tool any QB needs to be successful and is lacking from the neck up which is why Atlanta got schooled in the SB. So like I said he's merely a piece of the puzzle. Ok now you turn to hunt for something relavent in your argument.

NFL MVP. What you talking about. Late third qtr he had just as many incompletions as TDs Two. No choke by Ryan at all. Choke by offensive coordinator.

Nope. Kyle Shannahan. I work on radio show with Brian Finneran, 12 year WR with ATL. He was sitting right behind ATL bench. After julios amazing catch on 22 all ATL had to do was run run run FG up 11 and super bowl champs. Instead a sack and holding call takes them out of FG. Ryan came off field, going right after QB coach, shannahan in box, and Ryan says to QB coach run the f*#*%$&$ Ball. Run the f$%*&$ ball. Falcons had no timeouts left so he couldn't call TO. Just awful. Better hope Deshaun doesn't go to San Fran cause he will have to deal with fricking Shannahan

Exactly about DW potentially going to SF. I don't want DW to play for a coach that incompetent.

Man, if Ryan wanted to run the ball why not just call an audible?
And when Shannahan get's mad just tell him to enjoy San Fran with his Super Bowl ring.

So many factors go into this guys

On field personal, down and distance, etc. I'm sure everyone on this board could have stepped up and pulled it out in the same situation.

The only factors that mattered were time and point differential all others were irrelevant. The ball was on the NE 22, if they run dive or inside zone runs at worst it it because 4th and 16 and a 45 yarder (with a top tier kicker) to make it a 2 score game with around 2:30 to go.

Thank you
Walt disciples bash Ryan Well the man has had horrendous Olines Average receivers Variety of OCs
This year they have home a line and gave him multiple targets.
D play calling was vanilla in second half. O play calling was vanilla too until it mattered Matt took one sack he shouldn't have. The other was on RB MIISED BLOCK

Julio Jones has been All-World since day 1. Roddy White was consistently one of the highest regarded 2nd threats. Front Office got him HOF'er Tony Gonzalez. Matt Ryan has always had targets

Exactly what I said last night.....throw the frigging ball away, kick the field goal, and Falcons win the game....He really stunk in that 4th quarter and caused his team to lose that game.....Go Tigers!!!!

The OC or whoever called the plays on the drive he fumbled and the last drive blew this game. Ryan did all he could do sometimes the rush gets to you before you can get rid of the ball. Watson was sacked during the Natty and put us in a 2nd and 16 late in the game do you really think he wanted to take a sack. Heck no it just happened.

Ryan should never have been in a five step drop back in a situation like that
