Yeah, I found that interesting.

For those that didn’t listen in, MUSC has 180 vents, 30 bipap/cpap that can be converted to vents, and 90 anesthesia machines we can use as vents

(unless we're pilfered), they say we're going to be ok. One misleading stat though is available hospital beds. That number is reasonably high enough to handle whatever we end up with. BUT, the trick is that if we fill every available hospital bed, and use every available ventilator, etc. we'd have nowhere near the number of doctors and nurses needed to care for that many patients.

IN SC our deficiencies are in staffing levels and doctors.

Just from what I've heard. We may be one of the better prepared states, equipment wise per population, but doctor/nurse wise, we're lagging behind most other states.

Very true points.

I’d also point out that at least from my ivory tower view, there are only about 5 hospitals in SC that you’d want to be in if you’re truly sick.
