Emily Post, and panties in a twist? You seem a bit sensitive to be all up in arms about what’s said on a message board between a bunch of dudes. I doubt you’ll find much sympathy here

It’s not hypocritical to point out how ridiculous it is to compare tearing up a piece of paper to the long list of childish things Trump has said and done since he started his campaign.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He should take a lesson from Bill after his acquittal

Feb 6, 2020, 12:48 PM

he APOLOGIZED for what he did, and for putting the country, AND congress through the ordeal.

You can bet your ###, Trump will claim HE is a victim, and, still insist he did nothing wrong. He can't win graciously, he will shove all our faces in his #### and call for the prosecution of those who dared defy him.

Clinton: "Now that the Senate has fulfilled its constitutional responsibility, bringing this process to a conclusion, I want to say again to the American people how profoundly sorry I am for what I said and did to trigger these events and the great burden they have imposed on the Congress and on the American people. I also am humbled and very grateful for the support and the prayers I have received from millions of Americans over this past year.

Now I ask all Americans, and I hope all Americans, here in Washington and throughout our land, will rededicate ourselves to the work of serving our nation and building our future together. This can be, and this must be, a time of reconciliation and renewal for America. Thank you very much."

The EXACT OPPOSITE is happening.

I'm on record as being very much not a Trump fan

Feb 6, 2020, 1:10 PM [ in reply to Are you watching this? ]

But I try to view and judge each action independently of my built up opinion of a person (not always possible, but I try).

For instance I thought his SOTU the other night (the speech itself) was pretty decent, though it contained the totally normal twisting of stats into facts that every president does. But overall, the speech was just fine.

Giving Rush a medal is outright ridiculous, but to each their own there.

All of that to say I try to give folks credit for when they do well...

...but this speech is such a bad look for him. And it furthers my opinion of him as a thin skinned fragile bully who can't for second show normal human contrition or anything that would come close to threatening his fragile machismo.

It's frightening to me that genuinely good people I know are buying into this "strength" and not seeing it for the prideful crassness it is.

Not only did he not apologize or take the high road...he’s on TV now doing the exact opposite. Calling those calling for impeachment evil, vicious, unamerican, etc.
