License plate question

Posted: Jan 16, 2019 11:38 PM

I was just offered a decent amount of Money for my “CLEMSON” license plate. I’m not in South Carolina, but was wondering how much a CLEMSON plate would fetch in The Palmetto State?
And if you were wondering. No way!!!

Go Tigers!!!

What? You aren’t going to tell us how much you were offered? What’s a “decent amount?” I’m thinking $300-$400.

Lutz, 50 of those in the world & you thinking a few c-notes.

I will get down and ROTF with you. I had NO idea. I’d still like to know what the “decent amount” was.

So....anybody think we’ll see tags saying “44 to 16” and variations?

I have the one in Tennessee. I waited ten years to get it. I found out when it was up for the annual renewal and went to the tax office every Nov to see if it had been renewed. After the previous tag holder quit renewing it I had to wait another 12 months before they would allow me to get it.

I wouldn't price mine. Unless I'm mistaken Danny has the SC tag. I know I have the TN tag and one member here has the Virginia tag unless that's changed. I do not believe a luck man gets more than one shot at possession of one of these tags. Make it count. Say $25K but know that someday you'll regret it.

My tag and Danny's tag are not for sale. NOT 4 SAIL!!!

Danny doesn't have the SC one

I know who has it, grew up with them and it resides in Columbia of all places

I saw it for the first time about 6 months ago. Does Bill Smith have it?

How many Clemson fans are in your state?

If I owned it away from SC, I'd let it go for $2,000. Maybe a bit less if I could find a comparable vanity plate like CLEMSN.

Like anything its worth how much someone is willing to pay.

Delaware Tag #14 sold for $325,000.

Personally I have not reached a financial tier where nothing is for sale.

I live in Nevada and was offered a Grand

YMMV, but I wouldn't take that offer

I'd at least want enough to purchase two season tix or airfare to fly to Clemson/playoffs for a game. Recommend using that money for a new Clemson memory.

Of course, if funds are short, use it for whatever brings you the most joy or lowers your stress. Good luck with the decision and congrats!

edit - now go find a new CLEMSON related plate. CHAMPSx3 or something reltaed

djsvevenThanks for telling us what you were offered. After reading the replies here, someone would have to offer me way more!

Congrats on being the Nevada Clemson plate guy!

Clearly you should see if this person is

foolish enough to pay off all your debts. If you don't have any debts, see if they'll fork over 500k? You've nothing to lose.

We tailgated this past year next to a family that has "81 & 16" on their tailgate vehicle. Very nice family. I asked her, what she would do after we won this year and she said that they'll add an "& 18" sticker to put on their bumper beside the tag.
