Didn't think I'd ever see Tucker Carlson get outsmugged,

Feb 21, 2019, 8:08 AM

but it happened. This is entertaining.

I only have one response (for both of them really)

Feb 21, 2019, 8:32 AM

Now...take a look at this chart...

Point is the top marginal INCOME tax rate is meaningless if you want to raise revenue. It's lip service, nothing more.

Wasn't half of his interview about tax avoidance not tax

Feb 21, 2019, 8:37 AM

rates?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't understand this argument

Feb 21, 2019, 8:43 AM

"Well if we increase the marginal tax rate they won't pay it"

Then pass laws to make cayman island accounts etc illegal. Then let's find some politicians with enough balls to put them in jail if they do.

I like your funny words magic man

That's kinda that fella's point though. Politicians are

Feb 21, 2019, 8:46 AM

bought and paid for. They're millionaires as well. Both sides. They have no interest in actually paying more in taxes (for obvious reasons), and certainly don't want their billionaire benefactors paying more taxes. It's a rigged system, but it isn't new.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-19b.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree. Not new. But still a problem***

How about we just stop asking the government to use violence to steal from people?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Violence? Explain***

Re: Violence? Explain***

Feb 22, 2019, 12:02 PM

The government forces you to relinquish your finances, assets, and other things to them, otherwise they use armed men and a stifling, complex bureaucracy to ruin your life either temporarily or permanently.

The government has a monopoly on violence. Everything the government does operates on tax dollars, which you must surrender to the government, otherwise they force you to pay up.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did any of them give an example?

Feb 21, 2019, 8:49 AM [ in reply to Wasn't half of his interview about tax avoidance not tax ]

Nooooooo.....

Could you be a bit more vague? Kthx***

Feb 21, 2019, 8:59 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you forgot this graph

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Can you add a 3rd line for govt spending?

Feb 21, 2019, 10:28 AM

Somehow our government doesn't feel like they need to balance their checkbook each year. That doesn't work in any other household.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let me help you understand what you just posted

Feb 21, 2019, 12:06 PM [ in reply to you forgot this graph ]

I think you're trying to say that The lower the top tax rates are the higher the debt. Do you think there are other factors to Federal debt than the top tax RATE?

Fix number one - rates don't mean actual revenue. TOTAL TAX REVENUE was the variable you are looking for.

You can replace Federal debt with a line of federal spending and they'd look the same. So what conclusion would you draw from that? The lower the highest tax rates, the higher the spending?

Fix number two - You need to remove spending from the equations and debt all together. All you need to show is Top tax rates, Overall Marginal Rate, and Tax Revenue. Then you'd have something.

This just makes you look dumb.

Would have been just as good to post this graph

Feb 21, 2019, 4:34 PM

?

However, this one may be factual.

Where are the guarantees of increased tax revenue

Feb 21, 2019, 10:27 AM [ in reply to I only have one response (for both of them really) ]

from every new budget plan or tax cut?

Appears the graph is proving both talking points wrong (higher tax rates won't always lead to higher revenue ... lower tax rates and 'growth' won't lead to higher revenue)

Anuther triggered socialist, I bet....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How about listen to it before you comment

Feb 21, 2019, 9:08 AM

the historian was actually fairly calm the entire time. Tucker got triggered because he can't handle somebody not getting thrown off by his strawman arguments

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I like your funny words magic man

The historian had a plan to induce that type of thing.

Feb 21, 2019, 2:16 PM

Tucker acted like a psycho, so that's on him, but the other guy was being a b*tch for effect.

My Fox afficienado father in law tells me often how I remind him of Tucker. Evidently I am a smug ### when he and I have our little debates.

He might enjoy this link.
