Just my opinion on the super bowl

Posted: Feb 4, 2013 12:54 PM

When I watch it I can't help but feel like I am watching a freak show. I will say right up front I am a HUGE college football fan and rarely watch the NFL. I usually take in the playoffs and Super bowl if at all.
The halftime shows are just too much. The commercials, while fun to watch, are what MANY tune in to watch. The analysis is nauseating. Is it necessary to have 8 hours of pre game?
I almost fell out of my chair last night when they said "the NFL is not yet prepared to make an announcement as to why the power went out". What? It has to be official? From the NFL?
Give my ANY college game and the true passion that goes with it. The traditions and varying offenses. The bands and the cheerleaders. They don't need the outside garbage the game is enough. JMHO.

The pomp and circumstance is hurting the play

They just aren't used to being on the field 30 minutes prior to kickoff and they sure aren't used to a 30 minute halftime. They look flat the first few minutes of each game.

If you are going to have that for the spectacle of the super bowl, at least start working your way up to it in the playoffs.

It was probably that #### halftime show..................
