Just heard on ESPN that Duke Basketball

Has had the #1 recruiting class in the nation. That would include this year's class and no NCAA national championahips. I'm sure they will be Vegas' favorite to win it all next year.

This year, Ken Pomeroy had Nova as the favorite to win it all and they were only at 18.1% followed by UVA at 17.6% and Duke at 12.1%.
The two best teams I've seen in my time following college basketball, 99 Duke and 2015 Kentucky, both failed to win the tournament.
The tournament is just a crap shoot and the best team typically does not win it. That makes it really exciting for fans, but it's also probably the worst way to truly determine a champion.

And I'm not even saying they should change it because it's clearly extremely popular the way it is now. It's just not designed to actually determine the best team. The NBA playoffs, for example, does a much, much better job in that regard.

Idk. UNC was pretty dang good last year. I think Nova was pretty dang good the year before. Duke was probably the best team in 15. Going back to the Florida teams and Kansas they were probably one of the best that year. I would say usually a top 5 team wins it all.
