Coworker lives next to Duke Power guy, who told him they sent half their line crews to Florida prematurely when it turned out we needed them just as much as they did. Nice move, Duke.

Four fell toward my little out building in which I store tools, equipment and have a small workstation. Six feet from that building is where my parts car sits. The body is just about perfect but I'd robbed it of diesel engine, transmission, driveshaft, a couple brake cylinders and the entire interior.
The building didn't fall and it appears the roof doesn't leak. The limbs didn't tear the heated mirror off the door of the car and it didn't damage the glass or bumpers which I intend to save and store.
It took down our power line between the house and pole and snatched the meter base off the house. The power stayed on throughout the three day wait to get Duke's attention. They came yesterday, took down the line, we lag bolted the meter base back on the side of the house and replaced the pipe and weatherhead. They had a crew waiting to run the line back to the weatherhead.
God is good.

and tickets are usually reasonable---don't think I've ever seen any go for more than $60.
I was thinking that maybe Van was here for the big Americana festival going on this weekend. Brings a ton of big name singers/songwriters in.
