Jake Nicolopulos

Nov 23, 2014, 6:42 AM

As I was looking through the pics of the seniors, I was struck by seeing this young man.

Some people wonder what makes Clemson and Dabo unique, and this is one example: people matter. Tajh Boyd was talking on his radio show this week about how that has impacted him, and still does. This whole family thing isn't just marketing. Jake Nicolopulos wasn't forgotten and thrown away, he was honored.

Do I still want to crush the cursed chickens? Of course!! But stories like his (and Daniel Rodriguez') make me proud to be associated with this university. I couldn't say that if I were an alum of most other schools.

Kick the chickens!!

He reminds me that I am so proud to be a Clemson Tiger.
Dabo is a very solid individual , and his structure permeates through the university at large...not just those of us that love football are affected by this kindness.

Point for trying to spell this

There were several others who are no longer physically able to play, honored yesterday, too

What is this young man's story...

I'm not familiar with it. Thanks.

He had a major stroke the day of his Senior HS football banquet. He had committed to Clemson early, and was NEVER able to play. It's really a miracle that he lived and has some kind of quality of life. It was my favorite moment of the year when they announced his name yesterday. There is no football game that will ever mean as much as the difference that Clemson University makes in the lives of the young people that have the privilege of attending.
