Jack Kennedy recommended the 1st Air Force CROSS to Clemson

graduate..Major Rudolph (Rudy) Anderson of Greenville, SC after he U-2 plane was shot down over Cuba.

But, Rudy's famous photos that he took of the Russian ship's missiles gave The President & his staff the proof they needed to tell the Russians to stop & turn around..or face a possible war.

Thanks & a lengthy, sharp salute is due to both President Kennedy & Major Rudolph Anderson at this time in our history and remembrance of two sobering events.

RIP.
