The bowls are dead, the sugar bowl had 20k empty seats. The Rose Bowl will be the only survivor.

It sure was. A lot of great History. Sadly, in the Playoff era and with additional “ Dime A Dozen” Fairly new Bowl games, many younger folks will never know about some greatHistorical games!

Seemed “Big” for Clemson, but was an end to disappointing season for 0hi0 State. They were 7-3-1 and ended up 7-4-1.

We were there at the '78 Gator Bowl and it was a Big Deal to us. We celebrated in the parking lot for an hour after the game :)

I agree. In the late 70's, early 80's, Gator was a bigger bowl than the Peach Bowl. In seems like the Peach Bowl somehow over-took the Gator to be a CFP bowl game. How unfortunate, because I love the Gator Bowl.
