Is it me or are we always young?

Nov 27, 2012, 1:26 PM

When were we a veteran team. It must have been within the last 4 years? Seems like we were young last year and this year. Will we be a veteran team next year?

Confused....Erk

Re: Id not young then it is just wait until we get this crop

Nov 27, 2012, 1:33 PM

of recruits in. I want to see it on the field and that means beating the crap out
of the coots.

it's just an excuse, and we're always making excuses***

exactly

Nov 27, 2012, 1:48 PM

It does seem like we are always "young". You never really hear that from the top teams like Alabama. It's just an excuse.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I remember alabama whipping our butts in Atlanta

Nov 27, 2012, 2:21 PM

when they were "young"

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We arent as talented or deep as Alabama

Nov 27, 2012, 2:22 PM

Also that team won 2 national championships.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

of course we aren't. Who's fault is that?***

Nov 27, 2012, 2:23 PM

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not everything is somebody's fault

Nov 27, 2012, 2:27 PM

We just aren't at that level yet.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nowhere close.***

Nov 27, 2012, 2:57 PM

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lol so its Dabo's fault we aren't Alabama?

Nov 27, 2012, 2:58 PM

You need to get a grip.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually Ignore that.

Nov 27, 2012, 2:59 PM

Yes we still have a ways to go. That does not mean we aren't improving.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tom, you're incorrect, as usual.

Nov 27, 2012, 3:01 PM [ in reply to it's just an excuse, and we're always making excuses*** ]

Last year we had more true/RS freshmen and sophomores than anyone in the country, and this year we have even more.

Not an excuse. Just reality.

By the way, you really are Lowcountry_Racontard, aren't you, "Ned". LOL.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right, and nobody is responsible for that. It just happens.***

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well at least you can admit you're wrong, Faddy. And yes,

Nov 27, 2012, 3:08 PM

when you don't have the depth of "elite" teams. when you don't sign 30 players and cut, and when you sign 12 players in any given year within a 4-year cycle, then you're going to be young. The numbers are plain to see.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and the excuses continue***

Nov 27, 2012, 3:11 PM

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Facts, Faddy. I know you have trouble with that F word.***

Nov 27, 2012, 3:12 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

just a bad excuse***

It's a reality.. in conjunction with needing an overhaul

Re: Is it me or are we always young?

Nov 27, 2012, 2:18 PM

That's what I thought. Or it's a veteran line with young DB's or some combination.

It seems with some of the lopsided victories against the weaker teams, sure it was nice to puff chests about breaking all of the O records. However, it was a huge missed chance to get more snaps to next year's crop.

It's really a depth issue I think.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

When you upgrade talent you will start some more physically

Nov 27, 2012, 2:25 PM

talented players in front of veterens. It leads to mistakes early in the year, but adds needed experience. Alabama has no fall off from one string to the next so they literally aren't ever young. That's where we would like to get, but yeah, you do have years when you are young. Look at this years D-line and linebackers earlier in the year. They are not upper classmen and are young. You can call it an excuse, but it's a fact. We should be rotating in Frosh and Sophs. Not starting them.

Very, Very Excited. Very, Very Proud.

Re: Is it me or are we always young?

Nov 27, 2012, 2:26 PM

If its from the Bowden playbook then we will always be young.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is what happens when you upgrade talent***

Nov 27, 2012, 2:31 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I keep getting older,

Nov 27, 2012, 2:35 PM

and they stay the same age

Re: Is it me or are we always young?

Nov 27, 2012, 3:10 PM

Actually young claim works for every school. The main difference is if you are having to play the young. Last year Clemson only had 2 or 3 more players in the young category than USC. They were playing at Clemson and not so much at USC.
