Is DJ U a challenge for the job?
Feb 28, 2020, 10:58 PM

We didn’t know what Trevor brought to the table until he got the nod to take the job. Will DJ U be given the same chance? And if he’s as advertised, what will that mean for the starting QB spot and for those other guys on the depth chart?

^^^^ tiger drummer trolling ^^^
I’d say at this point we’d have to differentiate between “playing bad” means with respect to our seasonal goals and expectations for the offense.
KB was a quality QB and prospered in a capable QB oriented run first scheme. With that D? Likely good enough to run the table and lose against a top four team again.
However, with our proclivity to attack the boundaries and go deep in the passing game, he didn’t excel. Some would say he didn’t play well. He certainly didn’tplay as well nor was he as capable as Sunshine. Scoreboard, stat board, 15-0, National Championship support this assertion.
DJU and Pomm should get snaps as we destroy the ACC. Neither will start over Sunshine because he will absolutely terrorize Defenses next year. He struggles? Which I highly doubt but at that point the others will get a shot, just like he did.

Not sure you can look at any incoming freshman and choose him over a 29-1 National Champion looking to go first in the draft. QBs don’t get any better than TL. Dabo would replace him if he was in a funk, but I wouldn’t count on it. DJ U could become the backup, though, and we would probably lose another QB to transfer, but that’s a long way off.

TL is the consensus #1 pick in the 2021 draft. No freshman is taking his job.

Observers are saying Taisun is developing and making strides. It sounds like a healthy competition for the #2 spot. In the end, barring injuries I would say Taisun may end up going in the direction Johnson and Brice took. Unfortunately that means Clemson needs to lock in another high caliber recruit soon.

the backup position at some point during the season which may cause Taisun to look elsewhere for playing time.

Why don't we discuss something legitimate instead?
Examples:
How many snaps will DJ get in the spring game (or during the season)?
Will DJ pass Taisun to become the backup during the spring, summer or season? How many games?

No, Trevor beat out KB his freshmen year, DJ or Taisson will have to beat out the 1 pick in next year's draft. Big difference.

This can’t be serious.... Didn't know what he had? I can’t even take this serious. Trevor is 29-1 no he’s not ever at risk of losing his job unless something terrible was to happen.

if he stays healthy, will be the starter next year guaranteed when Trevor is selected #1 overall pick in the draft. DJU will go down as one of the great Tiger Qbs.....if not the greatest....mark my words.

Ridiculous question. TL16 is tabbed to be the #1 NFL pick. Every casual fan knew TL16 was one of the highest rated high school recruits of all time, and he has led team to two championship games in two years.
DJ U has already stated his readiness to watch TL16 all year. He is competing for backup. Any more dumb questions?

Plus TL16 won an impressive natty over Bama, and took us to natty in his other season. Only DW4 has done that, and he did it his sophomore and junior years; not freshman and sophomore years.
Winning a natty as a freshman QB is very impressive. In fact, he is the first and only freshman QB to do that.

This guy had to mean this as a joke. The answer is yes, DJ will challenge the Puma for the #2 job.
