Didn’t socialists build the wall in Berlin all those years ago?

They are getting too extreme. I agree. I will remain a Dem, but yeah they are getting extreme. I am not sure about the socialist aspect, but they are getting extreme generally.

Both sides employ this tactic though

Feb 1, 2019, 12:10 PM

your far right and far left voters are the main ones voting in primaries. So they have to go extreme to get the nomination. Once they get the nomination they then move back towards center to pick up the undecided voters

I was watching MSNBC they other day. Al Sharpton and a guest were both agreeing that the wall near the Tijuana border is immoral and that it should be torn down. That's too extreme for me. Dems also talk about race way too much. It gets old. Bill Clinton would be a conservative now a days.

While not a Democrat, I would think that’s the main most

reason Democrats are terrified at the prospect of Mr Coffee now, and Bloomberg previously, doing the independent thing. Blue Dogs and moderate Republicans have very little to turn to right now...somebody with practical ideas could take a lot of votes from both sides.

Disclaimer: I’m not saying I believe that Schultz would make a good candidate, because governing is a lot more than being a successful businessman. But it will be interesting to watch.

Schultz should just run as a Dem. He has no chance of winning as an independent. The main reason Dems fear Schultz is because he is guaranteeing Trump a 2md term if he runs as an independent.

Democrats are being chicken littles about it. His whole platform is that rich people need to be protected. How is that going to entice liberals?

Moderate Dems and independents may like some of his stances.

It doesn't take much to swing an election. Jill Stein even swung an election.

Seems to me Trump is a "moderate" Republican

Schultz is definitely not a Blue Dog, either. That would be somebody more like Jim Webb, who really would be more at home in the Republican Party at this point.

I don't buy it. The idea of the independent silent majority has always been a myth. Americans are strongly partisan.
