I've always said that the best way to finish is with a strong D.

We certainly don't want our D giving out early and ending our season prematurely.

I support the Clemson coaching staff. If they want to play 111 players, I'm good with it
If they want to play 50 players, I'm good with that.


That said, it seems obvious that a significant number of highly ranked powerful programs led by competent coaches play fewer players, run up more huge margins and tend to get rewarded for that approach in the early season polls. It also seems fairly clear that the silly Heisman Trophy voters often make up their minds about who the winners are likely to be no later than mid-October most years.

I repeat, I am not second guessing our coaching staff. I do not second guess anything about the coaching staff that has produced a 70-7 record in the past 77 total games. That sort of record calls for almost reverent silence when the coaches are talking and absurdly loud applause and screaming support all of the rest of the time.
