Inexpensive way to travel to New Orleans

Hello Tiger fans,

If you are on a budget but want to visit New Orleans at the beginning of January, I wanted to let you know that there are DIRECT trains available from Clemson to New Orleans (no kidding)! It takes almost 15 hours to get there, but on the plus side, you board directly at the Clemson train station, which is just 7 driving minutes away from the campus. The train departs at 5:39am and arrives at 7:32pm.

There is currently a saver ticket available for January 12 for only $102 one-way (check the image). Not to imply anything about who will be playing in the NC game, but if you want to secure a trip to New Orleans early for whatever purpose, this might be a viable option.

I have been using Amtrak a few times, and even though they have a bad on-time performance, you get from A to B after all. Just visit the Amtrak website if you want to buy tickets.

Having travelled on an Amtrak a time or two , I would like to suggest plenty of alcohol and sleeping pills .
That is one remarkably horrendous way to travel anywhere more than about 150 miles .
