The ACC is what happens....

when a conference expands with no regard for geographic rivalries.
You've got Maryland sitting right next to Virginia, and not in the same division with UVA/VT.
You've got Tech in between Clemson & FSU geographically, and yet we're put in the other division.
You've got Miami & FSU in the same state, and yet not in the same division.
And then, instead of fixing that, our conference sticks Pitt & Syracuse in, and keeps the same F'ed up divisional splits.
A conference is not a TV market. It's a place for like-minded schools in the same geographic area to compete on the field. The ACC didn't realize that. And they, along with their members chools, are going to pay the price.

Question, do you actually feel good about your team

going to the ACCCG?
Better yet, if you somehow manage to beat FSU, will you consider your team to be the ACC Champs?

If we beat FSU, we're Champs. I'm fine with it...

Look, we went 5-3 in the Coastal, and at the very worst secured a tie for the top. If Miami had beaten Dook, they'd have gone based on a tiebreaker. But they've cheated like crazy to get there, and rightfully are paying the price. I tip my hat to them punishing themselves.
If we beat FSU, then of course we deserve the title.

the sad state of affairs the ACC is in, and for once, you and I agree. But I think the fact that a team that lost to lose to Virginia Tech, Miami, Clemson, BYU and Middle Tennessee State, but is apparently still good enough to play for a championship is a bigger sign that the ACC blows than the way the conference is aligned.

The fact that we're now 6-5 and about to be in the ACCCG is sad. But it's not something I"m going to apologize to you for. It's not our fault that the rest of the Coastal also stinks.
The entire conference sucks except for 2 teams, which honestly makes your 10-1 suspect.
We shouldn't be singled out for the failure of an entire conference. And all of this has NOTHING to do with the point of my original post. If you hate Tech, fine. But don't hijack a thread with this garbage.

we all know the reason Swoffie separated Miami and FSU

he honestly thought that Miami and FSU would be in the ACCCG every year...that's why the #### thing was played in Florida in nearly half empty stadiums the first couple of years. Genious move on his part.

Agree. It was a gigantic error on his part...

And there were plenty of people that saw that mistake before it happened. Did anyone outside of Swofford's zip code seriously think that the ACC title game would become a powerhouse in Jacksonville, Fl?
