I'd put Lawson over Branch at DE

Branch only really had one move, the speed rush off the edge. Lawson is a much more complete player

I assume that you mean Justin Miller and not Young at returner.

Boyd is the #1 QB until Watson either wins the NC or puts in another great season. Don't forget Boyd owns ACC Championship and Orange Bowl wins.

That's nuts. Deshaun is undefeated against everyone.

He won the freaking Davey O'Brien award! He is the ONLY Heisman finalist in Clemson history. His numbers are better. His ability to handle pressure situations against elite teams is way better. There is a case to be made for Tajh being #2 or 3... but Watson already has accomplished more than Boyd in a year and a half.

The team is, it's not just Deshaun. If Boyd had teams capable of going undefeated, you don't think he'd have won the O'Brien and been a Heisman finalist if not outright won it? Let's not get it twisted, Deshaun's numbers are good this year but they're not as good as Boyd's best year.
Boyd: 4410 yards 46 TD's 13 INT's 165.6 QBR
Watson: 4399 yards 41 TD's 11 INT's 159.6 QBR

But he can't even be mentioned in the same breath as DW in terms of QB ability.
If DW had Sammy, Nuke, Martavis to throw to, hos numbers would be off the chart. In fact, had Williams not gotten hurt this year I think DW would have shattered all the single season passing records easily

100% agreed. The coaches knew Scott would pull his weight...and he did both before and after injury. But they also knew that Cain/Renfrow were raw/new to the system and that Hopper and Peake weren't as trusted at that point. Hence, the conservative gameplans at times.
I think a 2015 Clemson team with Mike Williams would have still been undefeated...but it would have been more of a fireworks show at times IMO.

Tajh had the two of the best WR's in Clemson history on the same field at the same time. And he had at least a couple of returning starters on the O-line. This is really a silly argument. It's not even close.
Deshaun probably would have taken that team to the national championship game.
Tajh was great, but he had game destroying gaffes that Deshaun has never had.

Dantzler and Whitehurst are two of my all time favorites, but Boyd owns most of the passing records had a stronger arm than both of the mentioned and led us to our first ACC title in 21 seasons and first Orange Bowl win in 32 years. Tajh's steady leadership is a big part of where we are at now.

Ben Hall's lack of use/development cost that kid

in a major way. He might be the best TE talent we ever had if you talk combo of speed, strength, hands, routes, etc.. Why that kid did not transfer boggles my mind. He was a complete waste of talent, courtesy of our offensive staff at the time. I don't know what type of head he had on his shoulders, because we had some kids with issues in the program back then, but that kid was an NFL TE waiting to happen. He just needed some development, much like Dwayne Allen did. It still irritates me how we under used that kid.

Something i have never forgotten about David Treadwell

First game of the 85 season at Blacksburg with a few seconds on the clock in the 4th and he misses a fg to win the game (can't remember the yardage-I think it was less than 35 yards).I remember at that moment thinking "well guess this guy isn't that great". But there was a penalty and Treadwell got to re-kick and the ball barelyyyy made it over the crossbar to win the game! And the rest was history.

Ben Hall and myself came real close to getting into a fight at a party my sophomore year. Thankfully nothing came of it and we went on to enjoy quite a few beverages together that night and at later dates.
Agree fully that he was underutilized.
