years we need to throw everything and the kitchen sink at Shaka Smart.
Give him a big raise and break ground on a new facility.

nah....... nothing wrong with little john now except that the students need to be down on the court like EVERY other ACC school. instead we put them in the rafters and ticket holders come every so often. this leaves the arean half empty for just about every game.
Look at the colonail center the comcast center UT facility
all of those programs had facilities.. when the rebuilt they lost the home court advantage. Building a new facility does not mean you will magically get better. How about hire a real coach.

USC WAY WAY over built and it hurt them more than helping
We need to build a 12k MAX probably close to 10K facility with Luxury Suites to get the donors off the sidelines so Students can be down there.
Take the money that would have been spent on getting your place to 18-20K and throw it into player facilities. Making them top notch.

havent been to the other 2 you listed, but comcast is a fine facility, especially the player amenities. It may be a tad large for most games, but the students show up (and sit on the ends) and so do a lot of other fans, esp. for ACC matchups. Lost homecourt advantage? Ask Duke. UMD's woes on the court since their national title have more to do with Gary Williams being unwilling to play the recruiting games with AAU coaches and handlers than anything related to facilities. Facilities are only a part of the larger picture.

Why would he leave VCU to come here?

Better Facilities? No. Better Tradition? No. Better Recruiting? No.
Doesn't make much sense.

He coached at VCU too. That's not really a good argument.

The guy coached here for two seasons almost 10 years ago. People just need to be realistic.

that he WILL come back. I was pointing out that that may be a reason he would consider it.

That gives no reason why he would leave the situation he has at VCU to come here. Giving him more money and promising to build better facilities is nothing. He is already paid well at VCU and they are in the process of building a $14M practice facility. Not to mention he has already turned down offers from big schools to stay there.

You respond with a post simply saying facilities are better there. When in my post I simply say break ground on the facility project to correct that.
Your response shows you did not in fact read my post.

You obviously didn't read the one that I just posted. What is Clemson's promise to build better facilities when VCU not only already has better facilities, but has already started the process of upgrading them. At best he comes here with a slightly higher paycheck and similar facilities. Why would he leave a very good situation for that?
