I wonder if the recruits ever notice that at USCjr.......

Apr 23, 2015, 6:37 AM

they have the smallest trophy case in all of D1 football. They've been playing football in Columbia, SC for around 117 years (or so) and have just that one lonely old 1969 ACC league championship trophy and a handful of second tier bowl trophies to show for a century of lame production.

How do the Coots pass that off? Do the kids notice the differnce when they visit other schools like Coastal Carolina, Duke, East Carolina or other schools that USCjr competes with for their players?
How do they hide this lack of historical success?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Seems like a silly question when it is obvious all recruits

Apr 23, 2015, 7:06 AM

are blind-folded and driven to a different location pretending to be Columbia.

They hide it with a 70 foot banner of a hall of fame coach*

*He's in the hall of fame because of things done at other schools.

He's not in the hall as a coach. Only as a player. He's too young to be inducted as an active coach.

The 1969 trophy committed suicide in 2003

Apr 23, 2015, 8:11 AM

According to reports, the trophy committed suicide when it realized it would be alone forever.

It's pretty simple...the players who choose to go to SC

Apr 23, 2015, 8:34 AM

are going there for other reasons, besides football tradition. Maybe they want to be the ones to start a new tradition.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Or maybe because they're crackheads, and that's the best

Apr 23, 2015, 9:24 AM

option for them...

Although we both seem to be pretty big Braves fans, but that's where the line has to be drawn.

Coot football history began in 2009 . When everyone is on that page ...we can move ahead with the lesson planned.

keep in mind we have only won 1 out of the last 6 meetings with them. lets wait a bit before we get too cocky, no pun intended.

Keep in mind 66-42-4.. Don't give a chit about last 6 years

Just more proof you're a c0ckface. Football didn't start until 6 years ago.

The thread was about how you guys have one decent trophy in 117 years. Please answer the question, what do recoots think of you guys having done nothing meaningful in 116 of 117 years of your history? Something tells me you won't answer that question.

5-game streak is their sporting zenith

Apr 23, 2015, 10:01 AM [ in reply to Re: I wonder if the recruits ever notice that at USCjr....... ]

They never seem to recall that immediately prior to their recent 5-game streak, Clemson had won 4-in-a-row not once but twice in winning 10-out-of-12.

Nov 22, 1997 Clemson 47-21 Columbia, SC
Nov 21, 1998 Clemson 28-19 Clemson, SC
Nov 20, 1999 Clemson 31-21 Columbia, SC
Nov 18, 2000 Clemson 16-14 Clemson, SC (4th in a row)
Nov 17, 2001 Carolina 20-15 Columbia, SC
Nov 23, 2002 Clemson 27-20 Clemson, SC
Nov 22, 2003 Clemson 63-17 Columbia, SC (ouch!)
Nov 20, 2004 Clemson 29-7 Clemson, SC (fight!)
Nov 19, 2005 Clemson 13-9 Columbia, SC (1st and 35, Charlie Whitehurst wins his 4th in a row)
Nov 25, 2006 Carolina 31-28 Clemson, SC (last second FG failed to tie)
Nov 24, 2007 Clemson 23-21 Columbia, SC
Nov 29, 2008 Clemson 31-14 Clemson, SC

Clemson also won 4-in-a-row 88, 89 (45-0!!), 90, 91.

Re: 5-game streak is their sporting zenith

Apr 23, 2015, 10:08 AM

Yes but our win streaks dont count. Haven't you been attentive ? 2009 to 2013 . Skip last year because they didn't want to be there .
History , it's not the categorical storyteller we all thought that it was , ask any dirtpecker alive.

Don't they have a winning record over USuCk?

Re: So Duke should probably be pretty 'cocky' then...

They keep the recruits away from the trophy drawer . It's in a locked room and wouldn't ya know it that during each recooting visit the keys to the room where the trophy drawer is kept has always been misplaced.

They should get a belt clip for those keys .

My guess is that they use this tactic
