day before the game this year. Among other things, he said he doesn't try to figure out where the odds makers are coming from that favor Clemson by 4 1/2, he thought that if Watson played he would likely be rusty and/or ineffective just from not playing, let alone the injury. Then he saved the best for last. He said I think South Carolina will win this sixth in a row for much the same reason the winning team usually wins this game, they have a running game and Clemson doesn't. He said that in the past week he was speaking to a touchdown club filled with Gamecock and Tiger fans. He asked the crowd if there was anyone in the room that could tell him who Clemson's starting tailback was. He asked them to raise their hand if they knew. He said everyone was shaking their heads and really neither Clemson nor South Carolina fans could tell him and he couldn't tell them. He said that, in a nutshell, was a bad omen for Clemson going into the South Carolina game. The gamecocks with Davis and Wilds, not to mention Cooper would just be too much offense for even a very good Clemson defense.
