I think we hit a homerun on the Streeter hire!

Dood just showed up and with Cole as the starter and between his hire date and the bowl game, he along with the Co-OC's turned him into Joe Montana.
We should go ahead and clear a spot in the trophy case, that's not empty like the coots hence the clearing needed, for DW's Heisman!
Thoughts?!?

I think Cole was able to get a little healthier (bum shoulder) and I also think Streeter was able to build Cole back up mentally. Just as important as Streeter was Elliot's and Scott's ability to call the game that best suited Cole.
I was a huge Morris fan, but he knew full well that Cole couldnt do all the things Watson could, yet called the game the same for both. This combined with Cole's bum shoulder, shot his confidence to heck, and we all saw the result.
BUT ..... to answer your question, YES, Streeter is a home run hire, IMO.

Elliot was calling the same type of pass plays that Morris did with Stoudt...

Mostly screen passes, flip passes, and sideline passes. Stoudt did throw some more deep passes in the bowl game, but the offense was out on the field more allowing him some deep opportunities. Only difference in the bowl game and the rest if the season with Stoudt, was Stoudt executing in the bowl game, something he failed to do during the reg season

do you think our playbook has a section called

"sideline" passes or "flip" passes? Really, I'm curious.
I'm pretty confident that each route combination had a progression, and we would take what was given. A lot of the screens and "sideline" stuff are pre-snap reads.

that DW stays healthy--freak injuries so far--no cause to think they'll be repeated. With him, this offense can carry a defense with a lot of new faces until Coach V works it into shape. Go Tigers!!

I went to Clemson with whole 4 years with streeter. He is a nice guy kinda quiet not IN Your face like chad, prob much more suited to cole. Streeter is a never get to high or to low guy very good for a qb coach. I think Chad could kinda stress them out ala Boyds melt downs.

with your description of his demeanor. I think it will serve him well although I've been told by many collegiate athletes that some really prefer that "in your face", edgy coach. I would much prefer the Streeter type although I've had both.

He's likely more refering to the 2013 Fl State type meltdowns...deer in headlights, run backwards 10-15 yards, panic, throw lateral pass while falling to Fl State defense for a pick 6.

I think it's nice to have a dedicated QB coach. Especially with Bryant, he's now got a couple of true freshmen to really show what he can accomplish long term.

Very happy we hired Streeter. He's a great guy, comes from a coaching family, has a really good football mind, and can articulate well to these kids. He can teach them football and he is also the type of man that these kids can look up to and emulate. I think he will do really well.
