Trash talk

Dec 4, 2016, 9:37 PM

I have never played on a football team but I always thought there would be a lot of trash talk going on between both teams. Is that indeed the norm? I heard an interview with the gamecock player saying Clemson had said disrespectful things to them, as if that was shocking! I can't imagine the teams are on the field saying sweet and encouraging things to each other! Anyone on the board ever played college or high school football and can tell me what's the norm?

work as Student Equip Manager with Clemson and I can promise you the things said between the lines is not repeatable in Church.

Trash talk is the norm. Some games more than others.

Deon Sanders told our sideline during "punt rooskie" game that he was about to return a punt. He did! That fool talked the entire game to our sideline.

Thanks for the answer! It is as I suspected! Except that the Carolina player said they are classy and don't act that way. For some reason, I think he is lying about that! Ha ha

Do not think he is lying. Know that he is lying.

Good grief - I can't remember ever playing football or BBall that we didn't trash talk during the game. I thought that was part of it. I expected it if someone made a great play. What's wrong with these whiny liberals?

You got it in one guess...

Do not pay much attention to gamecoot members. They are very under-informed.

I've said some horrible things on the football field... that was when real football was being played though, targeting allowed. Sorry mom.

I can't remember who it was, but there was an interview with one of the Clemson lineman after the coot game. He said something to the effect of what is said on the field stays on the field. I like the way he phrased it. They all talk trash and after the game shakes hands and forget about it.

But yea it probably gets pretty nasty.

I have a friend that is an NFL official and asked him about trash talking during games and he said it's not real bad in the NFL. He said that if it gets real bad the crew will shut it down.
