but a man named Larry Rowland died yesterday. He was a State Farm agent in Anderson for many years. He was also a football and basketball official in college and high school for several years. After that, he became a part of the chain gang crew at Clemson and only stopped when his health forced it. He was the guy who carried the spot marker along sidelines he did this for more than 20 years. Larry was a loyal member of the crew and part of Clemson.

Really sorry to hear about the death of Larry Rowland. Larry officiated high school basketball games for me when I coached,
and I always held him in high regard.
