Those of you who do 3d printing

Sep 2, 2020, 2:53 PM

What is the reasonableness to print something like a fishing rod holder to attache to my boats?

Design would be like a 4x3x1 block with a holey block attached to the main block.

If for long term installation, would consider a UV resistant

material.

Not following a holey block attached to a main block, but 4x3x1 block sounds simple enough. It's internal geometries that often times can knock out 3D printing as an option.

Essentially my boat has a "track". You slide the head in

Sep 2, 2020, 3:03 PM

Of the bolt and can attach anything to these protruding bolts.

I can't describe very well, but yes very simple. Could probably be done with wood.

I just want something I can slide my pipe into that is secured to my boat.

Just buy a fleshlight and secure it down with a U bolt

Sep 2, 2020, 3:19 PM

Slide your pipe right into that.

badge-ringofhonor-clemsonsteve02.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That sounds like a lot of nuts

Sep 2, 2020, 3:21 PM

2 for head to slide in, 2 to secure, and 2 to hold Fleshlight

and 2 to drag across the bridge of your nose so you can

finish.

Got it. Yep should work. I assume you have access to

This is questionably secure

Butt my pipe slides in nice and easy. I have a 1-1/4 pvc rod holder that slides over 1 in pipe that is screwed in to a piece of 2x4. and it is sideways

I know you are impressed

Sep 2, 2020, 3:45 PM

I had made 7 pvs rod holders, 1-1/4 pvc, slide perfectly over a seat pedestal. Which my old boat had 3 pedestal mounts on the front. Now trying to make it work with versatrack....which I have it working, but it is slightly redneck. They cool thing about them, in tidal water, they just swing around with the current and they were approx $7 to make a Dublin.
