The most important thing about Clemson's uniform selection..
Aug 8, 2013, 6:58 AM
|
|
is for the team to be happy with what they are wearing.
If they've done their work this offseason they should get to pick what they wear to open the season.
If they win they should pick what they wear in the following game. If they keep winning they keep picking.
Who can complain?

NO, I asked a question and he gave only the answer. Your threadjacking has gone so far you've forgot how to follow a chain of reason.
GET A GRIP, there's only three weeks and two days left now. It's time to focus.

I think Clemson athletics should lose the purple, (replace it with black) tone down the excessive use of orange, ban the Woo Hoo, use more white, and market the stripe. (instead of the paw)
Also...
Smack talk (and complain) less, (fans & players) be more accountable and results oriented, never say "We too deep" EVER again, and replace the "All In" mantra with "1 Clemson".

I do.
I just think the stripe fits what makes Clemson unique from other Universities more than the paw does. (considering the military heritage, tradition of running down the hill, tiger mascot, etc...)
The one thing that all of the things that make Clemson unique have in common is the stripe. (only the tiger mascot has a paw)
To be clear, I'm not suggesting not using the paw any more. I'm suggesting using the stripe as the primary marketing tool. (since it is more descriptive of all of what makes Clemson unique) and using the paw as a secondary marketing tool. (as accomplishment stickers on football helmets rather than large logos for example)

You could also argue that the black would be a way to honor the sacrifices of our military in the past, present & future. (and ties in the Memorial stadium & Death Valley aspects of the football program in a way that they currently do not)

The stripe?
Our use of the stripe is not original.
Our use of the Paw is.
The Paw is one of the most recognizable symbols in college sports.
Actually number 2 behind the Texas Longhorn according to an objective study.

uniforms DS and the administration have decided we want the world to see. Just like schools like the real USC, Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio State, etc. have their classic looks.
It's been decided that orange on white for home and white on white for the road (and sometimes orange on orange) are our classic looks. We don't need the players coming up with some screwy looking uniforms that change from week to week.
Class teams have consistent class looks.

Nothing wrong with a little Purple now and again.
For example, there are 12 games, 6 home and 6 away.
----
4 Home games = Orange on White
1 Home game = All Orange
1 Home game = Purple Jerseys and White Pants or Orange Pants
----
4 Away games = All White
1 Away game = White on Orange
1 Away game = White on Purple
