I consider the Manning award

to be College footballs most prestigeous award nowadays. The heisman just doesnt do it for me...they might as well just call it the popular vote trophy.

There are awards specifically for QBs & Watson won them all!

He was acknowledged to be the best QB in the nations by multiple sources.
The Heisman is ostensibly awarded to the best "football player" (whatever that means).
Either way, last year it obviously had very little to do with actually leading a team to big WINS ...

Agree. Manning award is not by popular vote, but high standards on and off the field. You can see that by the select company that has won that award before. Drew B. is in that club, not bad company with a Super bowl winning QB that defied a lot of odds to be a future hall of famer at his position - and still playing. Watson has characteristics of Manning, Drew, & others that exemplify the meaning of this award. Took it home 2x, says a lot.

I had made an error in my OP. Brees was a finalist for the Davie O'brien award, and a finalist runner up. I admit my mistake.. Either way, Watson earned Manning award 2x, and it does make for good company alongside Marcus Mariota and other new QB's in the league that are finding success and becoming or are already Franchise QB's. Sure there are busts that have won, bust Watson is too intelligent and works too hard not be a star in the League, maybe sooner than Later, who knows.
I think He does prepare " like no other " as Dabo says. He certainly has the skill set, intangibles, poise, and intelligence to overcome his in-accuracies. Of course, this is through orange tinted glasses, but even with them off- I see the same picture.. Hoping Watson goes to a team that will be eventually tailored around his strong points. He is a winner, give him the tools/time/coaching, he will be a great franchise QB, and that Manning Award is just another reason why.

I believe the Heisman is obviously the most prestigious just because it is "the" award everyone still talks about all season and has been that way for decades.
If it were not the case, we would not care and would not still be posting about the fact Watson should have won it over three moths later.

Heisman's personal pick

Who would John Heisman have picked based on his belief in not only winning but winning as big as possible?
