We're pretty much exactly where we were this time last year.

We were 7-2 with a series win versus SCar last year but ACC play was not kind to us.
From here on out will tell the tale.

Record may be similar but this team looks and plays

differently.
For one, we played most of the rubber game without our best bat. Secondly we threw a Freshman and he excelled. As did his reliever, who struggled a bit last year.
This team plays a lot looser and seems to be having a lot more fun.
If Jack's team had has many errors as we had Friday they could have come out yesterday tighter than a drum and we would have lost.
I am not expecting miracles but I think we will have a much better year than last year.

Record-wise, yes. But that's where the similarities end....

this team is rapidly showing guts, determination and plays loose.
And they're having fun.
I think we surprise some people this year. And the future is very, very bright.

That's actually incorrect

We lost our opening series last year vs a bad WVU team, so we started the year 7-3, not 8-2. Then we immediately lost a midweek game, an ACC series, and a midweek game.
Last years team lost 2 of the first 4 series.

Point being ... it was from the SCar series forward that told the story of last season. The record was substantially the same and we were pretty happy at this time last year coming off a series win vs the gamecocks.
Similar records aside, the team looks much better in almost every respect in 2016, so I have every confidence that we won't take a nose dive the rest of the season this year.

I still can't get over being in Rosenblatt when they won the second game in 2002 and again at a bar on Edisto Island in 2010 or whenever it was when they beat us again and won it all that year. I sure do hope we can go all the way one year. Would be great.

I THINK THAT SUNDAY'S GAME WAS ACTUALLY WON ON SATURDAY WHEN THE COOTS HAD BASES LOADED WITH ONE OUT AND THE NEXT TWO GUYS STRUCK OUT FOLLOWED BY US HITTING THE VERY FIRST PITCH OUT OF PARK NEXT INNING. THEY NEVER RECOVERED FROM THAT CHOKE JOB SATURDAY AND IT CARRIED OVER INTO SUNDAY!!
