How much do we need to beat NCST by to make it a good win?

Sep 17, 2013, 11:10 PM

I feel like the tide and expectations among the Tiger faithful is turning. The win over SC State, as wide of a margin that it was, was not satisfying. Even beating UGA was a bit of a let down knowing that we could have beaten them by more.

How much do we have to pound NC State in order to feel like we deserve our ranking? I'm thinking at least 17. This is a team that barely beat Richmond. We need to be like Oregon and demolish the teams we're supposed to beat.

1 point. Each point after that is just a bonus.***

I honestly think we need to win by 10-14. If we keep 1st team in I hope we win by 17-21.

Well the Oregon effect would be nice but I dont think Dabo runs it up like they do. Not saying we are going to destroy them but if we can, would be good style points

For me, not giving me a heart attack is pretty much for them not to have the ball with a chance to tie/win late in the game.

our current rankings, we will have to beat them by double digits...preferably, 20 or more. Note I said, "...we will have to beat them...."

Sep 18, 2013, 8:22 AM

Yeah, at a minimum we need to cover. If we want to continue to be the darling of the media we have to beat teams convincingly. We can't give anyone any inkling that we may soon "pull a Clemson". So tired of hearing that. Of course I just said it. Dang it!

Go Tigers!

Sep 18, 2013, 9:21 AM

If you're asking how many more points do we need to get a W. The question really pertains more to the issue of staying relevant in the eyes of the media. You think Michigan's narrow win over Akron made people say "Oh, they're still a good Michigan team"? Nope. Instead people were talking about how Michigan got beat by App St. Don't think people won't start talking about us losing to teams we should beat.

Aren't lacking in making the scoreboard tilt, so we need to make a statement and do the same thing to show we belong. 50+ is satisfying. We need over 550 yards total offense, preferably 200 rushing, and need to play sound defensively. We also need to do it without turning the ball over. That'll be a statement.

Sep 18, 2013, 10:26 AM

I'm guessing they'll get what Tennessee got from OU this past weekend by scoring a couple late TD on a bunch of Clemson freshman linemen and Venables will bust a vein cause Dabo won't let him blitz.
