Home security cameras?

Sep 10, 2018, 10:04 PM

Any suggestions for the best cameras that you can see from your phone and records? I’m looking to put one on the outside front door, one outside back door, and one inside living room.

Not looking to spend a crap ton. Just want something basic.

I wouldn't put a camera in my living room

Synology's Surveillance Station is what I use. You have to buy their NAS, but there are no fees once you buy the hardware.

These are the cameras I use. They work well for me and were the best value when I was researching the system set-up.

Why not camera in the living room?***

I assume anyone could be watching at anytime

and I would never know. Unless you or someone you trust are / is an IT security expert, you may want to operate under that same assumption and not put a camera anywhere you don't want the public to see.

Living room sechx is another good reason.***

in the guest bathroom, or something? Is there a toilet-seat mount? How 'water' proof are they?

(butt fur SRS gotigers37, I've heard good things....however, there's a similar-ish camera available on Amazon for less than $30/ea that's getting a lot of 'press'/pretty good reviews..)

not sure why I put the 1st "?" on there....

Sep 11, 2018, 8:43 AM

also, i think the cloud storage on that Wyze camera is hella better than most others

aaaand it seems these might just be 'indoor'

glad I could halp

Blink has outdoor also.

I use these inside and out. Easy to use, good night vision, great daytime video. minimal online storage, but enough if you are actually using it for security, and not living room sex pron storage. Batteries have lasted 1.5 years, so far.

Thing I didn't like was the very bright blue LED that turned on whenever it was recording on the indoor units. The XT (outdoor) has a switch to turn this off.

I can confidently say that a vicious canine and shotgun booby-traps are far more effective. I don't want pictures of criminals, I want shredded corpses of criminals to feed to ryanadidas' swine.

Those are fantastic deterrents.

As long as they're dipped in human dung first, to increase the likelihood of causing greater physical harm to the intruder, of course.

I've been really happy with these, and that was at $60 each. Now $31 each.
