Matthew McConaughey played a great coach in We Are Marshall.

If not him Matthew Fox would be a good choice. Near the right age and again some knowledge of the game from We Are Marshall.

I don't know but, who would play Beamer. To find somebody that old, they would be on life support. But that part was so short, they could take them off life support long enough for that part.
