Here's my take on TiGERS being #1 again on Tuesday evening

Nov 9, 2015, 6:30 PM

I think it's 50/50 that we retain our #1 ranking..because of several reasons.

1. The committee will have a bunch of new stats & they may not be in our favor.

2. The committee will have had a bunch of pressure applied to them, publicly & politically, and that might show uP..and Many pundits from every side of the aisle are just not accustomed to Clemson being where it is and that can effect what the committee does too.

3. The idea of them having a One-Loss Bammer team at #4 last week is a difficult pill to swallow but they do have a tough team (But bet they would love to have our more versatile QB) and proved it with big win over one-dimensional LSU. Remember where OHst came from last year (from 16th) with one loss to VT..and you can see where this might be going...with Bammer sliding into the #2 slot..OR maybe at #1.

4. Whatever happens..just know that DaBO, Staff & Team will play on and go undefeated if all possible so to be in the Top 4.

Go#1CLEMSONTiGERS!

As long as we are top 4 on December 6th, I don't care.

It's nice being #1 and all right now but as Dabo says, it doesn't mean anything right now.

Make it to the playoffs and it's all up to us.

We're still #1 in team efficiency:

http://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/teamratings/_/tab/efficiency

We're still #1 in S&P+ statistically driven ratings:

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ncaa

However, I won't be the least bit surprised if Alabama jumps from #4 to #1. They jumped from #5 to #1 in week 13 last year after narrowly beating undefeated Mississippi State. There is precedence for rewarding a one-loss team (Alabama) for a difficult schedule. I don't think it's as clear a case as last year when Florida State was playing so poorly, nor was Florida State doing as well statistically as we are this year.

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.

I think we stay at #1 and Alabama moves up to #2..

If we win out and if UNC wins out we would have beat another rated team. UNC could be rated in top 10 by that time, surely in the top 15, another quality win.
Win out we stay at number uno

Bill, I sense that the committee will not be quite ready

to anoint Bama just yet, and frankly, they shouldn't be.

Hence, I'm thinking the ranking will be Clemson, Ohio State, Bama and either Oklahoma State or Baylor.

Why Oklahoma State? Their thrashing of TCU and being undefeated. Why Baylor? As a sop to the Big 12 due to TCU's loss and Baylor being undefeated.

Then again, maybe I'm just an idiot. lol
