Here's a post about someone cutting onions at practice

yesterday.

If you're my frand on the buddybook you may have already seen this.

There was a young man named Hakim at practice yesterday. He was brought there by former Tiger Matt Reeves. Come to find out Hakim is 23 years old and has been fighting lung cancer for 3 years. He grew up in foster and group homes and wound up getting a scholarship to SC State. They told us that he has 3, maybe 4 weeks, to live. Players took time to talk to him and autograph is football during warm-ups and after practice, after practice he got his picture taken with the entire team. I watched Hakim during practice and the joy and fun he was having was evident by the enormous smile on his face. It made me think, what would my attitude be like if I knew I had a month or so to live? I had the chance to speak to him after practice and let him know that he would be in my thoughts and prayers. So I ask all you guys to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as well.

It made me proud to be a Tiger to see our players and coaches treat this young man like he was the most important person around. Dabo told the young man "Hakim, I know things don't look good for you so if you get to Heaven before I do, tell my dad I love him." #onions
